Restoration Works at the Existing Port of Lakki Bay, Leros

SICAP has successfully completed the restoration and structural strengthening works at the existing port of Lakki, Leros, with the objective of enhancing its structural integrity and protecting the port infrastructure against scour-related deterioration.
The project involved interventions both onshore and underwater, within the operational area serving passenger and roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels.

The main scope of works included:

• Restoration of damaged and undermined sections of the passenger and Ro-Ro vessel quay
• Structural strengthening of the quay wall through the installation of micropiles
• Rehabilitation of reinforced concrete elements
• Demolition and reconstruction of sections of the superstructure
• Underwater protection and armoring works for the port infrastructure

With a strong focus on construction quality and the long-term performance of the engineering solutions implemented, the project was delivered to enhance the port's operational safety while creating added value for the local community.
