Just Completed: Rehabilitation and drilling of 3 Water Boreholes and their connection to existing water storage reservoirs for the Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company of Chalkida in the areas of Mytikas and Vasiliko.

Following the severe damage caused by weather event “Thaleia” in 2020, many boreholes located near the Lilantas River suffered extensive damage due to flooding. The project included the rehabilitation and drilling of 3 new boreholes at nearby locations, which supply two water storage reservoirs and one elevated water storage reservoir.

Our highly specialized engineers successfully completed the hydraulic project, which included identifying and implementing a solution aimed at:

• Pumping drinking water from 3 new boreholes in the Lelantine Plain area, as well as installing the necessary electromechanical equipment (pumps, control and monitoring instruments, electrical control panels, etc.) for their operation
• Transferring the water to existing water storage reservoirs that supply the area’s water distribution network
• Interconnecting 2 boreholes with the respective water storage reservoirs, aiming to optimize the operation and adequacy of the water supply system

This is a significant project of local importance, with a total budget of €830.000, which will substantially strengthen the capacity and reliability of the water supply network in the wider area.
