After a new contract signed with the Forestry Department of Lake in North Evia, SICAP S.A. undertook the anti-flooding project "Hydrotechnical works on Xiropotamos stream of the hydrological basin 23.27.02" in the area of Lake.

The project will contribute to the recovery of the local #biodiversity and agricultural lands after the devastating fires of August 2021 and, most importantly, to the protection of human life and settlements, cultural & infrastructure works located near the burnt lands.

As part of the post-fire restoration of the area, the following are under construction:

• 3 Stone damns & 3 pre-damns.
• 2 Concrete Box Culverts.
• 2 Low Water Crossings (Irish Crossing).
• Vertical River Thresholds and construction of concrete walls parallel to existing walls foundations.
• Vertical River Thresholds and construction of concrete walls parallel to existing walls foundations.

Despite the inaccessibility of the area due to the extensive damage & soil erosion, flood protection work is progressing smoothly, and the project is expected to be delivered on schedule!
